WHAT IF ONE QUESTION COULD UNLEASH THE BILLON DOLLAR UNICORN TRAPPED INSIDE YOU?
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
At age 41, I was starting over. I was out of work. The bank was set to foreclose on our house. I was both financially and mentally broken. I had $130 to my name. My self worth was in the crapper and I felt alone.
I had spent the past 10 years spinning in the mud. Every step forward resulted in twelve steps backwards. Although, I did create some really cool things it was all with anchored on someone’s effort. I found myself disappointed, broken-hearted, severely depressed (but I never admitted it), feeling like a giant loser, and alone in my pain.
Just surviving sucked! I had to change. I read books, wrote out goals, and wished more times than I can count. Nothing seemed to work. It was way easier to make an excuse and blame something else for my problems.
In the business world, Aileen Lee defined a unicorn as a privately held startup company valued at over $1 billion to represent the statistical rarity of such successful ventures.
I wanted to feel like a billion dollars. I wanted to be the unicorn.
DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
At my lowest point, I remembered the feeling I had drawing the first thing that made me laugh. It was a magic moment because in that moment I knew what I was going to do with my life . . . I was six.
Cue the OMG moment that changed my life forever.
By asked myself a few simple question, “I wonder if everything I’ve been telling myself is total B.S. and are the actions I’m taking screwing it all up!?”
Alas, I found my unicorn! So I did the only logical thing, I said “No” to everything an adult would say yes to and “YES!” To everything a six year old would say yes to . . . AND it worked! I began to write and illustrate the stories I wanted to tell. My six-year-old me’s dream has resulted so far into fourteen books published or coming soon with major publishers.
I began to feel like a BILLION DOLLARS.
Becoming a Unicorn was pretty simple . . . for me, all I had to do was stop using my adult filter.
Immediately, I became aware of the actions, asked myself if I liked the way it made me feel, and if not I took action in the exact opposite direction.
I went all in on being there for myself, no judging, no bad talk, embracing my imperfections, becoming present, embracing the magic of my story, and implemented a boat load of bold action. I learned how to love myself enough to do the stuff that sucked!
I labeled it the Unicorn Effect because I started adding magic to my life by just being kind and empathic towards myself.
This is what worked for me and it changed my life. I would like to help you change yours.
Being the Unicorn can have a profound effect on your life.
MY BILLION DOLLAR UNICORN HAS HELPED ME:
I’m just a normal guy with a mission. I feel pulled to help others find the billion dollar version of themselves, realize they aren’t alone, creators of their world, change makers, energy givers, experts in imperfection, and more than capable of achieving anything.
I BELIEVE IN ME. I BELIEVE IN YOU.
BECAUSE WE ARE WORTH IT!
We are all a work-in-progress and that’s pretty cool.
